The Observatory is a detached studio room that sits in an elevated position adjoining the A Barn. The property is accessed from the car park by garden steps. It has extensive views in 3 directions.
By day, guests can enjoy the views of the South Downs, Arundel Park and the River Arun Valley. Then on clear nights, guests can turn their attentions skyward to take in the wonders of our solar system from within the International Dark Skies of the South Downs National Park. Star-gazing is certainly on the increase thanks in part to a local lad from Chichester, Tim Peake, the first British astronaut to walk in space. Night Sky phone apps are a good way to identify the stars, planets, constellations and satellites that are visible from The Observatory.
The facilities within the room include a dining/seating area, king-size divan bed, and shower room. The kitchenette is well equipped for self-catering and includes a hob, microwave oven, fridge, kettle, toaster and basic cooking and eating items and a washing machine. There is an outside patio with a bistro table and chairs and a bench where you can sit and celebrate the views.
